State-Based Aid Programs
During the 2007-08 academic year, there was over $10.2 billion awarded by state higher education
organizations. Most of the state programs are available only to students who attend a college within their state of residence. To be considered for state-based aid, you should consider attending an in-state college.
A limited number of states have established reciprocity agreements with neighboring states to help families manage college costs. For more information on reciprocity agreements, contact your college(s) or state higher education agency.
